DAILY GLOW: Ask and Listen

Every person wants to be known. It echoes God’s desire for His followers to “Know Him and make Him known.” Just as we get to know God by listening to Him speak through prayer and reading the Bible, ask someone a question and listen to them speak today. For those who are closest to you, ask about something you know is important to them. My husband loves when I let him show me what he did in the yard. Maybe you remember a friend had an important appointment this week and you follow up. Or perhaps it’s just asking the coffee barista how they’re doing, but listen intentionally while you wait, instead of moving on after they reply “Fine.” Encourage your children to ask a teacher, a grandparent or a new kid at school about themselves today, and to listen! Every person is an image bearer of God. Our two-step act of asking and listening might remind them that they matter, both to you and ultimately to the One who knows them best. And that makes you Glo4God.
