DAILY GLOW: Oh Fudge!
Common to every human is the desire to be known. Appreciating those who are often overlooked is one of the sweetest ways we can share God’s love. Speaking of sweets… fudge is the prefect treat when baking with Littles. My favorite fudge recipe fits a young child’s abilities (dump, pour, stir), attention span (5 minutes and it's done, literally), and appetite (so delish!) Plus it doesn’t destroy your kitchen in the making (watch out for those sprinkles tho!) Make a tray together (recipe link below) and decorate or cut into cute shapes. Make a few extra plates for your Community workers like the Garbage Man, Recycling Man or Mail Man! Leave the tray on top of your receptacle note on top to let them know they are appreciated, or meet them down by the road with a smile and wave when they come by.
Either way, they will feel remembered and appreciated - and they probably won’t ever skip your house! ;)

Ask your kids what they think our country would be like without the Mail Man? What if we didn’t have anyone to pick up the Trash and Recycling? Yuck! Are these jobs glamorous? No. However, they are important! These workers are often overlooked for their very important service! Jesus, the Servant of all, was also often overlooked for his acts of service, but certainly no less important. We don’t need to be in the spotlight to be special.
Be on the lookout for other silent servers that you can thank throughout the week!
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Matt 10:45
